Why is this any different than a Ford Explorer Sport Trac or something of that nature? Is this idea really that unique?

The Ridgeline doesn't have much competition. What else could it be?
MT did well in electing the XC90 over the H2 for SUVOTY. At least the Volvo has a purpose other than showoff.
But why the civic?

I just knew it that the Ridgeline. It's just simply amazing in my opinion. I can't disagree with other members' opinions because really 2006 isnt the year for trucks at all, except for the Ridgeline.

The Civic has no actual merit at all-- the hybrid is not superior to the Prius, the sedan and coupe are overpriced, and the Si is probably the only thing that stands out, but it's not all that significant since it doesn't really do much for the segment.
I firmly believe the Mazda5 is more suited for the title.

Let's get a construction company to use a Fridgeline as a daily work truck and see how long it takes for the "truck" to go belly up. It a nice (if you can get past the styling) wannabe pickup looking vehicle.

the ridgeline was really the only choice, i mean, the only other candidates were a rebadged dakota, a rebadged F-150, a rebadged colorado, a supersized dodge ram and the facelifted ram. the ridgeline is a nice vehicle for those who'd like a bed and a bit of off-road ability but want the refinement of a car as well, so it was pretty deserving anyway...the other choices for TOTY weren't even half as deserving as the ridgeline, and anyone who complains about the honda winning really doesn't get it (because, again, what other choice was there?)
