Default Jaguar XF 2016 (Project X260)

Looks like the next generation Jaguar XF moves upmarket but remains a stunner:

The XF does not need to move UP MARKET but DOWN MARKET. Sales of the XF are DISMAL. Jaguar should come in 15% lower than the comparable Germans and BUY MARKET SHARE!

Lure buyers. Take care of them. Coddle them. Get them to buy another Jaguar.

Land Rover Range Rover Land Rover Range Rover is what is generating big profits for JLR....NOT Jaguar.

Jaguar's total US sales last year was about 17K units! That screams that they are in DEEP trouble.

Maybe you've forgotten about the upcoming XE? If they don't move it upmarket, it will be completely cannibalized by its own stablemate.

This
+considering that Jaguar's top seller in the US now is the F type with XJ coming at number 2 I don't think price sells Jaguars. More over, Jaguars are international products that command premium in most markets so they can not afford to go down market with the next XF.

Volume, like all other Luxury brands, should come from XE and the crossover.

They don't need to drop the price if they can actually make the car worth what hey are charging for it. Jaguar's heritage is drop-dead-stunning design and they need to get back to that. End of story. Jaguar should at least attempt to make each new model a stone cold classic. Trying to blend in and be just another luxury player will be certain death for Jaguar.

XF competes with the 5 Series / E Class
XE competes with the 3 Series / C Class

Thus, the XE is a class BELOW the XF.

Moving the XF up so the XE can be priced like a 5 Series rather than a 3 Series would be idiocy.

Pictures of the XE are leaking out and it's more Camry than captivating.

the XF starts around $50k, as does an E class and a 5 series. it's not going to stray very far from that. you guys are reading too much into this.

Looks like it will be tasteful if not the new benchmark for styling.
