They sell a few hundred of the Land Cruiser and LX 570 per month. They are very expensive and probably trail the rest of the premium SUVs in sales.

As it shares it's basic frame and drivetrain with the Tundra, and that platform is over 10 years old... hopefully we begin seeing updates to Toyota's large truck lineup.

Not really. The Land Cruiser sold 3705 units in 2016 and the Lexus version sold 5707. The terrible Ford Expedition sold roughly 6X that amount and we don't even want to mention GM. Even adding in the Sequoia to Toyota's count still results in a laughable performance in the US market.

the detailing is very cool. if they had given it a range rover type roof that slants lower towards the back this could've been pretty fresh and imposing. instead it looks like a concept car for the current model.
