Default Toyota Fun Concept

http://www.carscoops.com/2017/04/new...at-chinas.html

I'm not sure "Fun" is the most appropriate name for a car previewing the Chinese version of the Camry. Interestingly, it does give away some Saab vibes, kind of what a new 9-3 would have looked like after the short lived 9-5 of 2011/12....

Looks quite good (other than FWD). I guess this is the new Lexus ES in Toyota version. Not a FUN car though. I expected the Supra or SF-R.

That is quite lovely. It's probably a preview of the new Avalon's styling as well. OR dare we dream the new Camry could actually be fun?

Toyota is changing, and the fall cant get here soon enough (Supra).

That has been Toyota's intention for the last gen too, but didn't hit the mark at all. They try to make it look 'fun' (now even - literally - sound fun it seems!) by adding sporty bodykits etc but no one is fooled. In Australia at the moment, and with the unfortunate demise of the Ford Falcon, it seems the majority of cab drivers have opted for the Camry. And its a perfect slot for the Toyota. But 'fun'? Hmmm...i am hopeful that maybe they got it right this time. Lexus has produced some truly great cars lately, and the small Toyota C-HR seems to be getting good reviews for being fun..

Can't remember if I had posted this already, but Kim Reynolds prototype drive was promising:

I think just a slight increase in athleticism over the current car would make for a very fine sedan.

I'm completely shocked at how tasteful this concept is. If the Lexus ES ends up looking like that (and being a better-than-average driver), I would certainly be interested....

The rear end looks awkward and ungainly to me, but it does look quite nice in side profile.

Would have been nice if he bothered writing about the car more than just a bit..

But it seems that Toyota has finally decided to build something more similar to the accord.

The words Toyota and fun are rarely seen in the same sentence.

For good reason.

Interesting that no pictures of the front end were posted. In the pursuit of the public interest, here's the nasty front end:

This nastiness undoes any goodwill generated by the rest of the car.
