Hey...good to hear from someone else this side of the globe!

Yeah, Graphic Design isn't too bad ae...just doing a year-long course (Diploma level) at a Design College. Cheaper than going to Uni!

Ultimately, I would love to travel to Europe and enrol at a Uni over there in a course in Automotive Design...coz like you said, there is absolutely no future for it in Oceania. Just doing graphic design to get into that sort of industry and hopefully move upwards!

Whats Civil Engineering like? That was actually another choice I was contemplating, or Industrial Design...

At my uni the first year is common for all engineering students.... so i havent actually started Civil Engineering yet.. until next year. I too was planning to do Industrial Design and had it as a few of me preferences, but i was told by my D&T teacher in high school... that only a small proportion of pplz that finish the degree get a job... so i stuck with Civil as job demand for it is high. Once i finish the degree i plan to go to Brisbane and work with my uncle in Property Development... so basically im hopin for a future in Property Development rather then Civil.

Automotive Design has been my dream... u know that new Merc M-Class ad. on TV... they show u how the car went from drawing, to scaled models, test cars to the real thing.... thats what i want to do... BUT then u gotta go to Japan or Europe for the real money/experience/work.... and then again not everyone gets the job.
