think this is dated info. recent reports suggest FWD 2 gran coupe. all other 2 series models will remain RWD.

If I am reading this correctly, the X2 is supposed to get a facelift soon?

Much like Audi's plan, BMW Group styling boss Adrian van Hooydonk intends future products to feature a more varied appearance.
some how I do not seen the varying appearance at audi just yet.

No, you are not - it's the first car featuring greater differentiation.

Still It looks like s***, so the facelift might come sooner than initially planned

As i read it, the X2 is the first BMW with the new design language (which means I guess no more Hofmeister Kink, but a badge on the C-pillar, because that's all i see so far that is "New", apart form a general "Hyundai Tucson" feel about it)

That said, the "New and exciting and different and varying look" has been around at Audi for at least 3 generations, always designers will explain at huge events to motor journalists why it is all new, flamboyant etc., but let's face it, unless you were at the 5 star event, you will never notice it.

I happen to thing the X2 is a massive leap out of the BMW styling malaise. Yes, it feels a bit as if it comes from an Asian company, but people will embrace this.

Agreed, I actually like the X2 and appreciate BMW going outside it's very boring box for once. I'd definitely take it over a GLA.

You're absolutely right with this, but it's because:
it's a BMW plus it's an SUV.

Where I live BMW it's a go to brand for new money people who have no idea about cars, add to this SUV craziness and you cannot go wrong with that no matter how it looks.

Today I've seen X2 in metal for the first time - fully loaded gold color on the display at the ski resort.
Still don't like it, but admittedly it's a bit better in real life. But it really does look like a lowered Hyundai Tucson.
