Default 2019 TOYOTA RAV4

Not bad, but the floating roof detail is poorly resolved, and that front overhang, current rav4 is soft, but this will alienate actual customers.

Definitely a "love it or hate it" design, definitely not dull or super evolutionary; It does have some jeep vibes, but generally I think a stand out deisgn should help to get noticed in an ocean of more and more cloned looking compact top mid size cross overs.

With Toyota new design direction, I think the new Land Cruiser will look very good.

The exterior is quite the horror show. None of the new faces are remotely attractive, the square wheel arches and side surfacing look terrible, and the rear is not much better (than terrible).

At least you can sit in the nice interior and forget about how ugly it all is on the outside.

It's not pretty but it's 1000% better looking than the current car. In the styling, the Toyota-isms have been kept fairly in check on this one. They are still there, but they are hardly as discordant as the Toyota-isms on the Camry for example.

It might, but it also may attrac some who have found previous versions a bit too soft.

I thought this was fine until I saw the interior pics. My God, that interior is SO horrifically drab.

I think this is a homerun. I'm surprised to see Toyota take a chance and go butch rather than bland on such a high volume model. The boxy/tough look will stand out in the sea of smoothed out, normal CUVs.

Somehow the design is cohesive as well. I like both trims with their respective mugs. The floating roof is sort of a joke though. I'm ready for that trend to die or be actually designed rather than just stuck on afterwards.

That front end seems huge and out of proportion.
It reminds me of the time when GM decided to put new front ends on their U-body mini-vans and called them Crossovers.
The Chevrolet Venture became the Uplander.

I'm kinda torn with this one myself. I actually like the outgoing model's styling, mainly because it doesn't follow current trends. This new one looks like a smaller Kluger, and also looks heavier and larger. I guess with the CH-R they now are pushing RAV-4 into different territories. It seems also aimed at the likes of the Tiguan. If it drives well and is keenly priced i would consider one in the future, second-hand.
