Default Audi E-Tron Sportback Crossover Concept

Honestly no idea what this previews, the height of the car in the photos here, seems too low for an SUV so either it is an suv but really lowered or it preview something else.

Maybe this previews the X4 competitor?

WOW! After all the disappointment the other E-Trons but also BEVs were, this one looks like being the perfect one. I think it will top the Jaguar I-Pace, especially thanks to AWS. I know I often say 'perfect', but that is because the products do not compete against each other.

I'm glad the SUVs/CUVs trend is going towards lifted normal cars. A SUV/CUV is a compromise of all the worst things possible in a car: not truly off-road capable, not as spacious as a van, not as well handling as a car. Sportscars are also the worst thing out there now: as big and heavy as a normal car, but less practical than a small car.

This E-Tron promises to be a good car for 4 passengers, that will be good on and "off"-road, with all the advantages of electric drivetrain. But isn't this however just a rebadged version of the Skoda Concept?

The front looks quite mean and purposeful. I like it.

Some things at VAG will never change: same car, different badge.

VAG group should have only two brands: VW and Porsche. There is too much redundancy. It looks like all the VAG concepts at Shanghai are the same with different badge. VAG has overdone it with its BEV concepts.
  • VW I.D. "Beetle"
  • VW I.D. Buzz
  • VW I.D. Crozz
  • SEAT VISION E
  • Audi e-tron quattro (Q8)
  • Audi e-tron sportback (Q6)
  • Porsche Mission e

So many concepts, but what will be produced?

I like the general shape in real pictures much better than on the teaser (a rare event, actually), and unlike most so called "coupe" CUVs this does indeed have a coupe like roof line (the others are just hatchbacks). Good job on that. I also like the general detailing more than other Audi concepts of late, less aggressive and vulgar, hopefully indicating a step in the right direction in general.

My only gripe is - as with the similar as with the smaller, but not unsimilar in concept Toyota C-HR - is that it really just looks like a regular car - 4 door coupe here - with bigger wheels and tiny bit more ground clearance, so I start to loose the "where does a car end and a cross over start" line. I have doubts that getting in this - as with the small Toyota - it gives away any of those elevated Cross over vibes that customers are after.

Still, this looks better than both X6, X4 or GLC coupe (I don't even want to mention the horribly afterthought and bubous looking GLE COupe)

So is Marc Lichte's bold new styling just going to be a Lexus rip off?

I like it. It's something fresh from Audi / VW. The proportions are a bit off here and there - but the overall style is quite nice.
