Default Mercedes-Benz Concept A Sedan

Well, pretty much as it's name says, previewing the next generation A-Class Mercedes, that will - no wonders, as Audi has one with the A3 and BMW with the 1 series - a traditional sedan model, in addition to the CLA;

Nothing surprising, a nice evolution of the current A-Class/CLA theme with a AMG GT like face, and IMo better integrated rear lights, that now pick up some lines of the car (some Mercedes units seem weirdly not integrated in the rest of the lines...)

A classier version of the CLA, i like it. The rear lights have a dose of Audi A3 sedan too imo.

Good thing the "dropping line" is gone for good now with the next models.

It looks like a CLA with a minor styling update. I wish Mercedes would get past the "dirty dragging diaper" look is so loves for the rear end of its sedans. Doing this and the CLA would just be beyond stupid.

It appears so at first glance, but look at BMW, they have a 3 series, a 3series GT and a 4 series Gran Coupe, all 4 being 4/5 door "sedans" based of the same car. And it appears the smaller car will follow suit, with a 2 series Gran Coupe/GT in the works. SO why would Mercedes want to give up on the chance to cash upon some "coupe" badge snobs with attaching it to one of their small sedans?

agreed on both, although I think the taillights are executed better here. Would love to see the CLA go away and have this instead.

I agree with Swizz regarding the drooping tail here. Yes, it looks better than the CLA, but then, anything would.

What it does a lot better than the CLA is not forcing a RWD design on a very obviously FWD platform, resulting in weird proportions. This is obviously FWD too, but unlike the CLA it works with it, and as such results in decent proportions. Yes, there is still a bit of a dropping butt, but IMO not to an extent that it is disturbing, more in terms of "family looks"....

Dropping butt like on first CLS was very nice. Dropping line is the problem with CLA (other than FWD).

Regarding FWD, Alfa 156 is the only good looking FWD sedan. Audi A4 B6 is not bad either.
