Looks more like a significant facelift than a new model.

I was expecting at least some of the concepts styling ideas to show up here, but it seems like the grills will not be from the concept.

If you look closely near the bottom of the doors, seems like the concepts silver trim will be carried over to the production car, and will run along the edge of the door front and rear doors.

This can be seen in the dark gray impression here
http://www.bmwblog.com/2014/11/29/ru...-bmw-7-series/

I don't think the white impression is anything close to the final car. The feeling I get is BMW's return to the 1 sausage 3 lengths principle.

the big news will likely be the construction opposed to the design. if they can get it under 4,000 lbs, that'd be a big win in the segment. IMO BMW seems to do conservative styling better than it does revolutionary design.

I like it so far.

Granted, the car featured here is currently only a 730d variant and we're not yet sure if this is a base or mid-end configuration. Nevertheless, from what I can see so far, I do like what I'm seeing.

With that in mind, I'm definitely looking forward to the 760Li with M-Sport Package :)

Was just about to post this from WCF ;)

Wonder if BMW will do damage control and release photos? It is more of a facelift than a new model but styling was not the main idea here, weight reduction was. While overall good, I still prefer the S class' styling but will reserve next judgement when official photos are released.

nice surprise for 2014, onto 2015

it looks like an X5 sedan. Nothing about it seems remarkable inside or out.
People harp on Audi all the time for the same sausage thing but at least you wont be confusing an A6 interior for an A8 interior. This interior wouldnt look out of place in a 5 series.

I was hoping that the gorgeous show car would have made it to market. That would have been the genius move. A stand-still design is not a wise move.

Agreed.

Also, I'm not liking the headlight treatment or front end look generally. It looks like the front aint going to be pretty.

I will like it over the S Class and the A8. The former--to my eye--is too ghetto bling / big booty looking and the latter is a Camry without the excitement.

Maybe there will be an 8 Series coupesedan???

The rear is interesting, but nothing spectacular. The front is just hideous. And that interior is way too boring compared to the S class. Hopefully it has some nice toys, otherwise this is a disaster.
