It's actually quite usual to stack up design proposals against some of the most important and/or most stylish/modern competitors. And I think having the Evoque (a still very good looking CUV) as a bench mark certainly worked out well for the 3008, itself really an expensive and very modern looking car, IMO the most stylish compact CUV right now (and more interesting/expensive looking than both a Q2 or X2)

Agreed, the Evoque has aged very well and will look great for years to come. I don't recall seeing any other photos from design processes on the web where other companies were present in the field, I am sure they use them for sure, especially for design clinics.

It's also great to see the other proposals for the 3008, even though some which may feature design elements from future cars are rarely shown.

They have some great stuff on older British brands, and also some currnet cars, and there you find a lot of design progress stories as well, with often 2 to 3 various design proposals and some competitors exhibited for final decision. Apart form that, also some great car related reading stuff over there....
