Because it is very overpriced for a VW, and inside the Passat interior without any bespoke steering wheel, switch gear or higher amount of soft materials feels cheap at it's price level.

VW is strangely clueless about product development and very slow to react and get something to market. When the minivan craze here happened they responded with the astoundingly bad and overpriced Eurovan and then insulted VW enthusiasts by doing the badge engineered Routan. The Arteon needs to be euthanized.
