2nd gen CRX Si. Who's had one? What are your thoughts?

I'd consider this as a weekend car. Loved it since it was new.

Never had one, but I recall being shoved into the +2 part (the back seat) as a pre-teen and, even at that tender age, being very well-aware that the car likely did not have much in the way of crash worthiness....

I think it'd be a fun drive on a winding and relatively short road, though.... ;)

I was a kid back when these were new resp. everywhere (by coupe standards), I always loved them. Drove it once many years later, a bit on the small side for me nowadays (an 6"3), but still a lot of fun, with pure, unassisted driving, close to what many describe as "go kart feeling". But I also have a Daihatsu Copen as weekend car (yes, that#s even smaller, but thanks to Kei car magic, I actually fit reasonably well, better than in early Miatas), so I might be biased towards small quirky Japanese cars...

If memory serves, here is the US they are 2 seat only, so that may help taller people fit. I'm 5' 8" so not an issue for me.

I've shopped some, but it's very hard to find an unmolested example. When you do, they'e expensive.

My understanding is that unmodified Integras are also virtually impossible to find. I do imagine that a clean version would be border on a collector's item....

I recall sitting sideways, so perhaps they just put on a parcel shelf....

Oh I do fit, but it feels very cramped. not claustrophobic like some modern tight cars, thanks to a low belt line and large windows, but still,the roof is low, and there is just so much adjustment in the driver seat, so legs felt a bit cramped too. I think the European one had dog seats (actually not allowed to anyone but like 12 year kids or so), but without leg room they were mostly folded or taken out, weight reduction yo... ;)

One of my favourite ever Hondas - released at a time when Honda was at its best producing great looking and class leading vehicles - sadly, that was a long time ago.

Friend dropped a 2L non VTEC into an HF body, sorted the suspension out really well and the thing could turn!

Hell, I even liked it with the old lean burn HF sub 100 hp engine.

Love the CRX 1st and 2nd gen. In Europe CRX 2nd gen are rare, and they are expensive for a not modified one. CRZ, the spiritual successor is not as good, even though it also still is a nice sport compact.

This whole category of cars has disappeared, that last ones being the CRZ and the Scirocco. I doubt they'll return, but hope with BEVs there might be a business case for them. They are very practical cars when done right. Again, the fault of stupid SUV/CUV craze.
