The Kia Rondo is here, albeit a bit early.
Tucked at the bottom of Kia Motors America's U.S. sales data for October was an entry for three sales of the Rondo -- a small wagon meant to compete with the likes of the Mazda5.
But the Rondo wasn't expected in U.S. showrooms until early next year, possibly as a 2008 model.
Instead, Kia will mount a "soft" launch of the Rondo, spokesman Alex Fedorak said today.
How soft? There's no Rondo advertising. The vehicle isn't even listed on Kia's public or media Web sites.
So how did three people last month know it was on sale? Word of mouth among Kia employees, Fedorak surmises. He adds that Kia expects to sell no more than 500 Rondos by year end.
Is is pretty nice though, a silver base model with a/c and auto.
Pirced at less than $18,000 it's a lot of car for the money. Esp the rear doors(they are BIG)
