Default 2019/20 Audi A3

https://www.carscoops.com/2018/08/ne...ic-first-time/

First time out there; And whilst it might look like a mule at first glance, no, it is the real deal, shut lines of the hood and surface treatment are slightly different in direct comparison, but otherwise it looks the same, incl door shapes, greenhouse etc. (likely a Golf Mk. 6 lkind of "new model" heavy facelift);

In comaprison teh current model:

and the old one:

Well, the front end will be clearly influenced by their newest SUVs, and to me that headlight and the huge grille frame look vulgar, tbh. Inside I guess we can expect the usual multi screen layout, probably very similar to the new Q3 with digital instruments and a touch screen infotainment but button based AC, and probably way more shiny black plastic, but also some new gimmicks in the infotainment like in the larger models.

Otherwise it will continue to ride on MQB, so probably not be a lot different to drive (and likely identical in terms of interior space), expect updated engines with 48V mild hybrids here and there(likely less relying on the Diesel side), and more powerful S3 and RS3 versions eventually, given that AMG will make the A45/50 AMG more powerful...

Roof line is different so it'll definitely be more than this.

Not sure, shape of doors plus pillars look identical, VW has done a lot of this "keeping teh base structure and just changing sheetmetal" between brands lately (Seta Ateca/Karoq, Seat Ibiza/Polo, even Q7/Bentyaga), given all hard points are identical visually and no new platform it seems like an obvious thing to do...

The A3 is for people who want a Golf or Jetta but want to spend a lot more for nothing but the jewelry of 4 rings.

The C pillar is more sloping that's for sure and in general the body shape looks (slightly) more dynamic, so IMO they had to change the body structure at least partially.

MQB is said to be updated, so we will see..

Definitely, but it works for Audi (in Europe at least).
