Default Volkswagen Passat CC

The Volkswagen (Passat) CC, which stands not for coupe-cabriolet but for comfort coupe, was one of the first 4 door coupes on the market. It was for some time also the only ‘cheap’ 4 door coupe you could buy, because the Mercedes CLS was a lot more expensive.

However it is time for Volkswagen to update the CC. The rumours are going, that the new CC will be a 5 door liftback, like the Audi A5 Sportback and BMW 4 series Gran Coupe. The Passat CC is longer, has a lower roof and has a lower bonnet. It will share a lot of parts with the normal Passat Sedan and Wagon

Nice chop, but not flashy/sexy enough in my opinion.

The A7 is "gotta have" gorgeous and as mentioned elsewhere, VW may be going for that kind of vibe.

As I have said elsewhere, unless the CC is Taurus/Impala/Avalon/Azera/Lacrosse/Cadenza sized it will once again be a wrong-sized, wrong-priced, slow selling product that VW dealers loathe having on the lot.

The next CC of course will not be that way and it should probably stay in Europe, either that or build it as a replacement for the American Passat in Chattanooga.

Thanks Swizzle

The Volkswagen CC will not be a Avalon, Cadenza and Impala competitor, because it will be way too expensive. The normal (European Passat is more expensive than the American one and is even cheaper than the CC)

It will be sold, like the current one, as a niche vehicle. However it is sold quite well in Europe. Maybe the reason for it is that VW is seen as a near luxury/premium vehicle in Europe, so it has the price to match that.

Oh damn. I think it's sexy. Might just be that beautiful color. But detailing from the NMC is very Audi-like. Nice job.

And that's the problem with VW they are clueless as to how to design market-specific products. It's in no way a premium brand. If Europe falls for it, fine.

Purposeless niche vehicles like the CC need to be kept from the NA market because they do nothing to reach the 800K units per year goal.

There is a real divergence between what NA customers, NA dealer, and VWOA want and what VWAG designs for the NA market and says to NA "suck it" basically. The Toerag, Tiguan, Scirocco, and CC are vehicles that Europe swallows as brilliant, but NA shuns--yes I know the Sciorcco is not here and that is a very good thing.

It's time to build SEATs in Chattanooga and Puebla with VW badges.

The irony is that if VWAG designed products to directly target the NA market, the Chinese market would swallow them up just as readily.
