2018 Hyundai Sante Fe
Potentially will be called something else, but the next-generation three-row crossover won't be badged Santa Fe.

So it looks like they're incorporating the Cherokee-esque headlight arrangement here as well as with their upcoming subcompact...

That's a worry. The current generation (which looks very nice IMO) will be a tough act to follow.

Indeed. And I'm not sure this is a good thing. Actually I'm still waiting for Hyundai to find their design language, the last generation of cars was IMO quite attractive, but since the new Sonata cars look either way more conservative than the car they replace or have no connection and a mix of other best sellers in it's segment (new i30/Elantra GT, Genesis G90). This again seems to look very different, and the huge Genesis like grille with Cherokee/Citroen Cactus headlights has the potential to look horrible. I think Kia is doing way better, they have a corporate design language without the "one sausage different length" approach and look more expensive than they are (although the new cee'd seems to follow the Hyundai "step backwards" approach too, from what spy shots indicate)

Next-generation Santa Fe will be split into two distinct models with separate nameplates. The five-passenger Santa Fe Sport will just be the Santa Fe; the larger 7-passenger model will get its own styling and nameplate, potentially resurrecting Veracruz, though it might wear a new name entirely.
