Dear Ford,
Now put a smaller (than fullsize) but pretty high-tech Diesel in this new Explorer, and you will have a brand new Ford group customer.

BTW, I sent an email to Ford about this and got an unsatisfactory answer. Something like: "Here at the Question Desk we do not know what decisions Product managers will make in the future, so we cannot help you with your smaller Diesel question."

I can't see most of the pics. As for the rest of them, It looks like a basic facelift and its horrid for my taste...

Ugh! I got a neighbor at the end of my driveway who's bought four Explorers in the past ten years and I'm getting sick of them... fast. I hope she's not going to trade her 2005 in for a 2006 because that's going to be one more I'm going have to get used to seeing every day. And she only carries two people at the most in her vehicle!

Other than that I kinda like the new design--in pictures anyways.

I think they still use the dashboard space poorly. The AC vents being where they are means that other controls which need to be more visible to the driver are placed farther down and out of reach (plus it looks weird). It also seems like the shifter blocks the drivers view of the controls but that is probably just the picture. i'd like to see vents relocated on the side of the center stack but other than that, i am really impressed with this interior.

I definitely like the front end on the lesser models. The Eddie Bauer front end is horrid.

Now thats not nice... The Explorer did sell poorly though, so really was there a point? I believe there is. The Territory is too soft road, so what about that small fraction that want a proper 4WD? Well i guess they will now buy a Toyota or LandRover

Very pleasantly surprised with the interior... looks very high quality and I think that wood trim looks surprisingly not-cheesy, though I wonder what the trim will be on lower models.

The outside still looks awkward.... the grille design is nice, it's just too damn big.

P.S. Yay for xenons!!!

Im completly agreeing with you! The outside still looks a little, um yeh. It just looks kinda funny. The grille is better in that picture that i had thought it would be. But the inside OH GOD! And here i was saying Ford has lost their marbels, i think they are really getting on track! The Fusion, Mustand, GT, this, they dropped the Taurus!!! OMFG
