Sure, they sell them here dirt cheap, but I can't picture the buying decision where a Mirage sedan (it has some ridiculous name here that I forgot the moment I read it) comes out as result.

Your first impressions are correct. It's hideous. Not quite as bad as Versa, but close enough. Sales here are pretty terrible, just like Versa (known as the Almera) - Nissan came to their senses earlier this year and ceased further imports to spare us Aussies any more eyesores.

A few years ago, I considered buying something ultra cheap. My choices were Versa sedan (terrible), Mirage (terrible), and Spark (surprisingly good for $13K). Ultimately I decided to go a different path. Here locally, the Mirage sells with money on the hood.

Chevy sells two Sparks for every Mirage Mitsubishi sells and I do not think this touch up will play well against the all-new Spark.

Unlike the ASX, this facelift actually improves things, and doesn't look pathetic ( as a facelift, the Mirage probably till is...). It improves the looks of the car, though honestly, most would have done, including not washing your Mirage....

Still looks ungainly and under-wheeled.

It's a vast improvement over the existing model, but seriously the rear view camera looks like a afterthought.

The nose does make it look more modern, though it won't change the fact that this is a cheaply built and thus cheap feeling car; Let#s see if there are any news beside the new grille (given, that#S all is teased, I doubt it), I guess it will still be popular where price is everything and people want a new car, or as a cheap rental in holiday resorts;

I was really hoping for a new car, or at least more substantial changes to the very cheap and very basic current model.

Ugh.
