2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
Official pix.
Personally, i prefer this one to the current one. I think i prefer mercedes cars to be more of the angular kind like this one.
Really dig the twin square headlamps on each side and i believe the tail lamps are not "even" in their texture (dont know how to explain), just like in the 80's wich is a cool throwback.

Just looks like a bigger C-Class. Not beautiful, but not pig ugly either. Should be more elegant and curvier IMO.

Its exactly what we expected it to look like, nothing more, nothing less.
Still beats the pants off the i-wanna-be-a-JDM 5-series, though.

Hummm... not really working for me, at all actually. I still am kinda hoping that the estate and the coupe come out a bit better, but the front should be pretty much the same so, meh...

I do understand what you mean, and the fact that MB seems to be ditching that design feature ( that i think actually had function ) has been pissing me off for ages now. Hopefully they will come to their senses and bring it back.

Those rear lights look like the Korean copycat of a 1980's Mercedes. To be fair the car looks pretty good... until the middle of the rear doors. Because after that someone-with-really-thick-glasses-which-he-had-apparently-lost took over the design!

It's not ugly or even bad, just it seems to suffer from that kind of visual over weight that the W140 had as well. IMO the current model looks sportier, even if generally more organic.

Looking great in the 1st pic, much better than I thought it would. I don't quite like the back though...

These shots, albeit low-res, are cropping up on all the major, and known automotive news sites, many which a lot of us follow - something tells me that it will be a looker and have more impact, especially in person, as the new C-Class has over it's predecessor.
