It looks quite good, so far, but if the V6 version is dropped, that would disappoint. The current model dropped the NA four, leaving the turbo-4 and the V6, which was a wise move. It would still slot below the larger and hot-selling Telluride and nicely bridge the gap between that and the Sportage.

So far so good! It looks like that trim piece at the base of the C-pillar mimics the ProCeed and might become a common design element for Kia going forward?

I did notice that as well, and I guess you are correct; I guess now with the Telluride catering the "Large family ute" business, this allows for the Sorrento to go a bit sleeker and adopt "coupe/shooting break features", like that fin. What a long way from the first, ladder frame based Sorrento....

They've hit a home run with the Telluride. There's no reason this can't be similarly excellent.

He's clearly making a point that there is a reason it can't be similarly excellent. The Sportage is extremely mediocre.

That is similarly illogical. To say that because one of a company's products is not tip top that none can be is asinine. By his logic, because the i3 is a total turd, the M5 must also be a total turd. Moreover, the Sportage is at the end of its product cycle.
