Simple, really. Given the size and power of VWAG, VWs should be much more compelling than they are, better looking than they are, class leading (they aren't), and have industry-leading quality (nowhere near). Now factor in their deceit with Dieselgate. Now factor in the addition of a generous warranty that is in the process of being removed.

We should be getting much better products with much better backing from VW. What we get in phoned-in designs and loads of excuses.

ha that almost works quite well, from a distance and if it were darker, it could pass off as the Opel.

Certainly attractive enough and looks to be a good size (not too big, not too small). This will appeal to the people who don't want something as self-consciously different as a Tesla (not sure how big that group may be, though).

I don't understand why the windowline rises so high, though. VWs tend to have pretty good visibility, and that visibility is what makes them so good as urban runabouts.

Indeed it does, but also mostly because, details like grille and light signature aside, the soft and swoopy design language is indeed the same as the Opel SUVs, especially the Grandland that this tries to hide as.

It's not bad, just far from the bit futuristic look of the ID3, that might please the EV crowd, and aslo not looking very original or VW like.
