I actually thought the 90's era Z was simply beautiful. Infact, it's the only Nissan I'd ever consider owning...long timers will know that statement from me is massive.

I liked the 90s 300ZX too, though wouldn't say no to either original 240Z or the 350Z, though the latter slightly less so. Never liked the 370 though

The 90s 300ZX for me was not ugly by any means but it was nondescript, but bigger issue with that model was that Nissan took it up market making the Z suddenly less affordable. To that point the Z/ZX had been attainable.

I'd like to see Nissan go more in the direction of the FRS/BRZ's simplicity in the next generation.

That's why they need a 240 back ;)

Keep the 300 / 350 as an 'upgrade'...but it has to be a REAL upgrade...ie, new engine...I'd be choked if (as a consumer) they introduced a 240 w/ their V6 - then brought out the 350 w/ the same V6...now, if they strapped a TURBO on that V6 AND make it visually appealing - then we'd be talking.

However, it's Nissan, they'll introduce a generic blob as the 240 (if they even do that) - then make the 350 modestly bigger with a couple extra bells and whistles, charge $15K more for it and wonder why it sucked at sales.

Nissan is definitely NOT adept at keeping the Z "brand" thriving. If they did a 240Z that evoked the style of the original with a turbo 4 and an FRS price, it would sell. A 370Z with a V6, a V6 turbo, and some attractive styling would also bring people in. No one really chatters about how the next Z will look, but discussion about the look and the details of the new Corvette before its introduction and now with the 2015 Mustang show that Chevrolet and Ford have successfully kept those "brands" alive.

Yes, too many sports cars on the market, not enough CUVs/SUVs.
