Someone made a comparison to Toyota; I responded.

I'm making assumptions about what Honda might do in the future to help Accord sales, similar to what they did for the last gen Civic.

Geez you're sounding whiny when someone provides opinions (you know, the reason message boards exist) that you don't agree with. Relax.

That specific civic had much more wrong than just styling, and it did look rather cheap through throughout its life cycle.

You quoted my post and then replied to someone else. ;) Thats quite the awkward dickslap.

Perhaps Naga's Leica took a picture of it.

Naga will get over it once he zings through the gears of his Elise

Lucky devil on both accounts.

Honda is also struggling in the motorcycle industry (at least in the US), then again Honda is probably more focused on cars at this point and have been for many years.

Older American Honda employees got a 401k and a pension when they retired, now employees are pressured into a lump sum.

Honda isn't the company it once was. It lost that vision decades ago. Honda is adrift. Nissan is adrift even more so than Honda. Mitsubishi is floundering and Renault will only deepen the disconnect with reality. Subaru and Mazda have vitality but are not big enough to stand alone. Long story short, the Japanese auto industry will constrict.

This article includes comments that match my thinking. That Honda began to try and imitate Toyota. Worse still its engineering spirit was lost.

I posted a link to a translated article of a Japanese business journal a while back that talked about Ito and the problems Honda was facing. Honda does not pay very well (compared to others in the industry), so they are having problems finding new engineers willing to work for their wages. Hachigo drives a Civic Type-R as a daily driver, so he is trying to get that passion and listening to the planning groups who want Acura to go to a FR based platform, build better FCEV and EV's. Those are what Honda planners want and they want Honda to partner with others.
