This might be just a US phenomenon, as in Australia, Toyota are still the best selling brand but a fair margin. I've read recent articles elsewhere that state that Toyota Australia's sales have increased.
But then again, I think Aussies in general aren't overly dramatic about the unintended accelleration issues as most of the vehicles affected have been those in the US, and as far as im aware, there haven't been any local cases.
As with the Lexus GX460, Australia doesn't get that model but we do get the Prado, and apparently Toyota Aus says that the Prado is unaffected.
On a different matter, the Hyundai i45 has just recently been released, so only time will tell if the i45 will eat away at camry sales. Hyundai Aus have been doing really well, and for a couple of months, they've actually outsold Mazda. Atm in terms of YTD sales, in aus, Toyota remains number 1, followed by Holden, Ford, Mazda and then Hyundai but a very small margin. Give them a year or two, and Im betting Hyundai will have overtaken Mazda and maybe even Ford, as Mazda have almost dethroned Ford from 3rd position on several occasions.
