Hybrid to be unveiled at Geneva. IMO, the 3.5L V6 + hybrid would be great in a halo sports car. V8 + hybrid is a solution that no one is asking for.

No major visual changes it seems.

Leaving room for the rumored hyper-mill LC-F perhaps?

I'm willing to overlook the fugly (IMHO) exterior for that wonderful blue, orange, and white interior (can't believe I wrote that). And they chose the right engine combination! This deserves to be a huge success, IMHO. I'll never be able to afford one new, but maybe I can find a CPO one in the future....

Actually, no.

In a grand tourer, yes. But in a relatively compact car (I don't think any of us know the dimensions, but it doesn't look like a 4-seater) w/ more sporting pretensions, a smaller, lighter, and more rev-happy engine is a better fit.

Fair enough, this will be plenty fast.

I think its a 4 seater, going to be a pretty big car if its the 2 door LS.

Really looking forward to seeing it out in the world.

I love the design as well.....

Anyways, this LC Hybrid has a very unorthodox drivetrain setup. I mean, it has an Electronic CVT in the front while it also has a conventional 4-speed Automatic in the rear. Very unusual and some might say that it's one of the most complicated drivetrain set-ups ever (along with the AWD system used by Ferrari)

I could understand why Lexus would do this. Lexus may have felt that a Gran Touring Coupe with a CVT might not provide spirited driving. Hence why they decided to pair the E-CVT with a traditional Torque Converter Automatic in order to improve smoothness and engagement.

Anyways
We'll see on how this goes once test drives and reviews come up.

it was an early morning, but when i first saw 4 speed automatic (seeing as how toyota is one of the last companies to still sell them) I felt a bit sick until I remembered that the rules are dramatically different when a big electric motor is in play

the future of Toyota Tech is being released here

lets see the twin electric turbocharger LC-F!
