You are aware that the 300 was a resounding success, right? The LHS proportions are fine for a front-wheel-drive car with the engine ahead of the front axle, but a rear-wheel-drive car with the engine behind the axle will not result in LHS-like styling unity.

They sold in droves for sure but then the whole idea was scrapped as if disowned in favor of the Rwd cars LX.

I was referring to the LX cars. I was unclear. The LX 300 obliterated the cab forward designs which had run their course by that time.

Very little camo, interior is the same as the E-Class:

That shot of the prototype makes it look like it will be quite lovely. The previous shots of prototypes made it look like an ungainly spit storm. This will easily be the best looking CLS.

I don't know. That rear overhang still looks a little rough.

The reason I like it is that the sagging poopie diaper look is almost gone.

The interior is a mixed bag for me, whilst most of it is gorgeous, those analog instruments, that don't seem to fit in shape wise with anything and look like a carry over part form another model (same troubles the lower end E-Class versions), something I don't find acceptable at this price point. Either don't be a that tight and offer digital instruments on every model, or develop two separate dash covers.

Also, again not exclusive to the CLS or even Mercedes at all, these multi color ambient light solutions start to look like some mid 1990ies discotheque when they received their newest laser light installation (or Las Vegas, if you prefer) , too bling and simply too much to look interesting, let alone classy....
