FCA desperately needs to marry someone and it needs to happen yesterday. The Italians will spin off and go home. The American brands WILL be sold.
That doesn't make any sense, and you're the one whose historically combative.
Why would "The Italians go home?" FCA is looking for a partner (sort of) to split manufacturing costs of the car-side of their lineup, namely the Fiat side. The whole Fiat and Alfa side doesn't pull in anywhere near the revenue that Jeep does.
Heck, even in 2016, Fiat only made like 80M Euro.
Whereas Jeep made 4B Euro.
FCA would be literally insane to sell off Jeep, Ram, or even Dodge. They are literally bankrolling the entire company right now. They are responsible for 92-93% of FCA's profits.
If anything would be "spun off" or at least shrunk itself, it would be Fiat. Fiat has a decent presence in Latin America, but they literally lose money in that market.
FCA selling off their American brands would be a literal death sentence.
