It wouldn't hurt VW to do that. Honestly it wouldn't hurt VW to even pull out of the US market. Its very small in comparison to VW sales worldwide.

Interesting, as Volkswagen just released the new Crafter something like a year ago and even built a new plant in Poland for it. So this means only the Transporter replacement will be built by Ford?

Then you factor in how unserious VW is about the US market and no one would miss them at all.

Didn't VW already have a plant in Poland for years, where the Caddy is built? After all, that plant could easily also build some Fords as compensation.

That said, as I understand the first shared models won't arrive until 2022 (the pick ups), so there is probably plenty of time until a Transit based Crafter arrives;

What I am more interested in is the vaguely phrased other models, which clearly also hint at non commercial vehicles in the mid term. ALso, it would be great to see some photoshops ;)

Obviously will be Ford versions of VW EVs.

VW should ask for a version of the Explorer as a Touareg replacement, a version of the Bronco for a sort of Audi G-Wagen, and a version of the Baby Bronco as a sub-Tiguan offering that the VW dealers are clamoring for because they so desperately need it and VW cannot be bothered to design one.

The thing is, why get a VW version of any of those, when you can just get a Ford or Lincoln version?

Stay with me here, Cha Cha...has Ford said much about EVs to this point? Nope. My guess is Ford is way behind on EVs and the quid pro quo is EVs for Ford and trucks and possibly production space for VWAG,
