Default Acura to present a production-ready concept at Pebble Beach (and other tidbits)

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a2...-pebble-beach/

No surprise the TLX and MDX are getting replaced soon (the MDX is particularly long-in-tooth, IMHO). No mention of the ILX, so I assume that will go the way of the dodo. The ZDX could also return.

Hope the concept is good looking, and I hope they resurrect the "Legend" moniker.

Building the Precision Concept intact would be the move to make. Returning to names would be a Godsend.

Soooooo, basically none of the above will happen - it makes too much sense.

I'm predicting a warmed over RDX style for the new MDX - and something useless for the sedan.

They're going to continue to embrace alpha designations as well...

Can't be exciting until they actually get decent power trains distinct from the Honda units.

Well, in their minds they just refreshed it for 2019, and this is talking about models upcoming in the next year or two. Knowing Acura, a next generation is still planned it's just further out than the reports of these other models that are up first.

Good grief, if they wait any longer, hopefully they base it on the next-gen Civic!

It'll be interesting to see how Acura differentiates the TLX from the Accord (aside from the SH-AWD) since the upper-level Accords are quite nice....

I really hope the production ready concept is some type of RWD luxury flagship, although I don't see how that could be possible....

And I think you're right which means that Acura will continue to (1) NOT be a premium brand and (2) not taken seriously in any way.

Yes because Honda with ZERO experience in RWD would resurrect its ugliest car on such a chassis?
