I'm wondering, for the USDM, the V6 version Mazda 6.... will it be a 3.5L or the new 3.7L offered in the '08 CX-9?

Good question. I've read at autoweek.com that Ford wasn't happy with the fact that the 3.5 Ford engine was in the CX-9. So Mazda changed it to the 3.7 and is now build in Japan. So I don't think Ford agree with the 3.5 in the Mazda6 for the same reasons

Woohoo! This baby will be at the Australian International Motor show next week!

I'll be sitting in one in less than 6 days. Woot!

Hope they have the bloody wagon!

I've read that the USA version of the new Mazda6 is actually based on the same platform used on the Ford Fusion/Mercury Milan sedan, but with Mazda-specific suspension design. In short, the US-market Mazda6 would better compared to the 2008 Honda Accord V6 sedan models. The car may end up looking a bit different than the European-market Mazda6, which is based on the European Ford Mondeo platform.
