What the hell is an FMC? ::
2010 would be the ideal time for a facelift and it should be getting replaced completely in 2012 :)

Toyota tends to get it right the first time so they tend not to do a clean sheet. They tend to change only what is necessary to remain the ones to be benchmarked in the segment. When you do things right the first time, heavy expenditures on clean sheet designs isn't necessary.

FMC = full model change
MMC = minor model change

I think it has to be a given that the 2.7 liter four now appearing in the Highlander will make it into the MMC Camry.

No, I think the Camry will be getting the RAV4's 2.5L.

Yeah i think the US. version will get the 2.5l, while every other country (making it like Australia and Japan) will stick to the 2.4l. I wonder why they arent using these new engines? Could it be that they are waiting for the 2012 model for a new engine OR are they working on a different engine? Like one with Valvematic not Dual VVTi. Reason why im confident Austrlalian/Japanese versions arent getting a new engine is because we would have seen it in the facelift RAV4 if they had one.

The 2.5 is a new engine meant to replace the 2.4, IIRC. We're gonna see it in the facelifted Corolla, Matrix, and xB (as well as whatever replaces the tC), I believe.

Seeing that the RAV4 and the Camry share a platform with the Highlander, I expect all three vehicles to share the 4 cylinder.

IIRC, the RAV4 is Corolla-based.
