In my mind, a Targa variant would need to have a metal roof, not a clothe one. That way you can separate this more from the regular cabrio, and that little metal roof would most probably fit below the rear window. As it is i find this redundant and difficult to justify.

Targa 4 and Targa 4S; IMO the current Targa is the most "classic 911" looking of the large family. ANd would probably be my choice, if I had the money.

I love this generation of Porsche. The 991 was the best interpretation of the shape since the 993 so far, and the 992 is pretty much on par. I'd love to be able to own a 911 one day.

Does it lack a metallic roof yet? That would do wonders to differenciate this from the regular cabrio, Two options to choose from, and it would fit perfectly in with that configuration.

They did a great job with this. The wheels and the rear arches gives it a true retro look, without pandering. Best looking Porsche to launch in 20 years.
