Looks like it's officially released, so I started a thread in New Cars.

The ST testing; And, unlike first rumors it won't have a 1,5 3 cylinder, but a detuned Mustang EcoBoost 2,3 (so basically a detuned current RS engine, if you like) with either a manual or an automatic; We will see the final thing next year Geneva, though i wouldn't be surprised from teh state of the prototype if this happens earlier, at least as one of those "concpets" that are only a production car with tinted windows and stuff....

Looks very smart, should be a hit where sold. Amazing what such modest roots can accomplish via manufacture performance engineering teams , at the dawn of the car's demise.

The Focus Active also will receive a wagon version:

The Focus Active now thankfully cancelled for the USA market due to Ford's idiotic mistake of wanting to source it from China, would have been a poor seller. No one would have bought a Focus hatchback as a crossover. The Focus wagon would have been a better move for this market.

The ST undisguised:

Well, looking not unexpected, but IMO not overdone, without being to boring (and thank god, the dual exhaust is a real one). Otherwise the engine will be a version of the 2,3 EcoBoost used in many other Ford products, tune expect to be somewhere between 250hp and 300hp, or in other words, right in the middle of the current hot hatch (but not hyper hatch) ballpark.

undisguised ST model:

No surprises, paint scheme and most of the detailing seems to be carried over form the previous model, including the general style of the bucket seats; A detail that strikes my eyes are the piano black door handles, after piano black mirrors maybe the next big thing? To me though it always looks a bit like those bare bones rental fleet base cars, that usually have unpainted exterior details;

The new Focus is so much more mature, handsome, and upscale looking from the previous styled-on-acid amateurish editions.

Nothing new - you can already have them on several Porsches...

I will never like gray wheels, but the car otherwise shows a nice mix of restraint and sportiness.
