So I gather this new Peugeot is a filter feeder?
On a serious note, this "gaping maw" identity being perpetuated by Peugeot has done nothing for the brand's image, in my eyes at least. I remember being fresh out of Tech and into my first full-time job amongst some of the dream cars I'd aspired to the Peugeot 306 GTi-6 was the pinnacle of hot hatches at the time. Only a poor interior let it down but the exterior and drive were just to die for... surely the best hot hatch of its time.
These new, hideous Peugeots do nothing for me, and that's sad. Interestingly, the 307 is so distinctly unsporty with its psuedo-MPV looks that we haven't even gotten a whiff of a hot version. Talk about falling off the bus. And don't mention that dinky little 206 GTI either... it doesn't count in my books.
