I have to second both. Last time at the dealership, Velar next to a RR Sport and a Jag F-Pace outside, I found A) the Velar to look smaller in real life than on pics, especially next to the still large RR Sport, and kind of the Jag more attractive in flesh (though the Velar wins inside hands down)

it's also almost $20k cheaper. no different than having a Mercedes GLE and GLC, although the range rovers seem sized and priced in between German offerings, where the Evoque is in between GLA and GLC, Velar is in between GLC and GLE, and Sport is in between GLE and GLS. The Range Rover is the G class in the lineup.

I've also seen both in person. The Velar is significantly more progressive looking and better detailed.

It's novel because it looks different. The normal RR and RR Sport are almost indistinguishable.

Also there is no such thing as "too many premium cross over/SUVs" in any car maker's lien up in the current market climate. They could probably slot even more models and someone would buy them...

UNTIL the next-gen RR and RR Sport arrive, which can't be too far away. Interiors (all three) already blend together with these facelifts. THAT was my point.

I assume that RR is simply doing what the Germans are doing w/ their luxury sedans. Lots of component sharing, lots of indistinguishable interiors and exteriors, and, ultimately, lots of profit since apparently people can't get enough of these things.

If they all have the same interior and only really differ in terms of exterior size, then, if you have the $$$ and the will, no need to go to another make for your SUV since RR's got you covered.
