Default Cadillac Chief confirms new halocar will "stun the world"

The Cadillac president, while at the 2018 New York Auto Show, confirms a new halo model is on the way, that will "stun the world". This is a separate story from the report of the Escala concept getting produced. Details are not yet known, but, it could be anything from a mid-engined supercar based on the chassis of the upcoming mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette, or a "Lux Low Roof" vehicle based on GM's new, upcoming modular electric platform.

Here's a link to the report: https://www.carscoops.com/2018/03/ca...ll-stun-world/

This is from March 27th, so this, too, is not a cruel April Fool's joke.

Sure they will...just like what the CT6 was supposed to do?

Current Caddy leadership is very questionable. XT4 is the smartest thing they've done of recent.... it just took them 10 years to figure out that category was needed.

I thought the CT6 was supposed to be a stopgap measure until they could make a "real" flagship?

Amen. Is it the production version of the Escala?

Here's a follow-up, and from Automotive News, that the "halocar" will arrive around 2022. The product-portfolio would have to be re-aligned first, with an introduction of a new vehicle every six months. There will also be exclusive V6 and V8 models, as it's also stated that the 4.2L twin-turbo DOHC V8 is Cadillac-exclusive and not shared with Chevrolet, including the Corvette. There will be much with electrification with upcoming program, previously announced, too.

I'm not sure if this "halocar" is one and the same of a production Escala, or something in addition to it. In another report, Johan states that it will not be another 3-box sedan, for the world does not need another, and there will be nothing to compete with Rolls-Royce. I'm posting this on the two threads.

Didn't sound like, from the article. Although the Escala technically wasn't a "three box sedan."

My own thoughts are that Cadillac be better off focusing on getting an Escalada replacement out ASAP and heavily revising the XT5 b/f Lincoln eats it for lunch.... I think halo cars are rather irrelevant in today's market....

Cadillac needs to blindside everyone with a production vehicle that is as stunning as a concept that bypasses the trip through conceptland and dispenses with teasers and just goes "bam".

I sure hope that this isn't someone over hyping a product that under delivers.

That could NEVER happen with Cadillac.
