I think this (or something VERY close to it) should be produced....Genesis needs a 'halo' car that is attainable - but aspirational.

If this were produced VERY close to this - priced in line w/ a Mustang or Camaro - I could see it bringing the brand to life. Sure, it would sell about 1/10th the volume of a Mustang; but it's not meant to be anything more than a conduit to get people to a Genesis showroom

That is only the NA market Genesis would target. Not Europe. In the rest of the world the sports car to have is the 911. Those that cannot afford will never buy anything other than Golf GTI. That is how it works in Germany: drive the Golf GTI until you can afford a 911, if not buy a SUV/CUV.

Except the Mustang outsells the 911 in Germany. Don't let those pesky facts get in the way: https://www.detroitnews.com/story/op...eas/107756764/

There are only two markets that matter to Genesis: North America and China. For Genesis, both represent the same challenge. They won't even try to convince the Europeans that anything could be better than BMW/Audi/Mercedes because those brands have the market hoodwinked.
