I'm not sure.

My theory is that it will be bigger than a CX-5..........but the third row will obviously be smaller than a CX9. After all, the main market seems to be for Japan and Japanese people have smaller builds compared to Americans or Europeans

This might be somewhat similar to a Subaru Exiga (a vehicle meant for Japan and some RHD territories)

Why are they not calling it the CX7? I mean, there are still plenty of CX7 owners out there, and this seats up to 7.

I assume this will be a "coupe" SUV, similar to a larger CX-4 (which is perhaps why they aren't using the "CX-7" name). Although that car isn't super rakish, so perhaps this won't be, either (although the DLO certainly implies a coupe-like profile).

I think you are right. Wheelbase for both CX-8 and CX-9 is the same, so this will be what a CX-4 is to CX-5. Shame to see all these funky crossovers popping up, but that's where the money is.
