Good to see Ford investing in keeping the product fresh instead of trying to squeeze every last penny out of the design for as it ages.

The platform is pretty old. It was a well used Volvo platform that was morphed into the Freestyle/Taurus X which was a less-than-stellar success, which morphed into the Flex (again without the anticipated success), and then morphed yet again into the FWD oriented Explorer. Ford got its money out of the carcass.

Most of these seem to be running around with blue lights on the top. I'm sure the redesign takes Service needs into consideration.

The Explorer is not the most compelling vehicle in its class. It will be interesting to see how the Traverse is done.

Absolutely agree with you that the Explorer has major failings versus the competition.

For Civvy street, the Explorer is woefully lacking and easily beaten by the Traverse. Thats before the ew model.
