The previous generation Mondeo was the sex. Even had a James Bond cameo.

It's too bad the US launch has been pushed back a year. I was hoping to replace my '13 ST with a next gen model but who knows when that will make it here.

That's interesting, I actually have the opposite opinion. I'm fond of this generation Focus but I think the pre-facelift front end was a bit messy, while the facelift was much better resolved. But to each his own I suppose.
I agree, i find the facelift to be MUCH nicer and better resolved. In fact, if it wasn't for poor quality issues with the Thai-sourced models here in Australia i would have loved to buy one.

Having said that those renders look very, very nice and i'd be happy with that if they do decide to sell it here and IF and only if the quality and reliability issues where completely resolved.

Yeh, have to agree, the facelift improved the nose, but I just don't like the facelifted tail end at all. Thus, overall, I've always viewed the facelift as a backward step.

The new one looks substantially better and extremely promising so far though.

Interesting how close they got the front end and how unsure they were about the Hofmeister kink-style rear window shape (something that was obvious from the start).

Both the hatch and the sedan spotted testing with the same body wrap:

Both look great although i giggle when i see the hofmeister kink looking so obviously BMW-esque on a Focus. I hope Ford gets it right from the start with this generation as, for me, the third generation in its pre-facelift guise hasn't aged well. They also have increasing competition from the Koreans.

I'm glad that the cartoonishness that plagued the Focus' styling is gone. My fingers are crossed for a real (i.e. conventional) automatic in place of the horrible and fragile Powershift.

I thought of Bangle as well when I saw these. I am very worried that Ford is starving its Fiesta/Focus/Fusion replacement program to death.

I didn't mean Bangle specifically though, just the general BMW trademark C-Pillar which has been adopted by many car makers since. How do you mean starving the replacement program?
