looks a little too busy for the sake of just looking different than the existing model, but overall they kept the image in tact. I have a feeling Explorer cues will dissipate in person

I have a feeling Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, and Audi are laughing with glee.

the manufacturers of the panamera, cayenne, bangle ass, and mercedes crap i'll refer to as the 2000's are all well aware that ugly (if that's what your implying) sells, as does brand prestige, and this range rover will not dissapoint on either front. range rover stayed relevant with a 10 year old design, watch what sales do wtih a new one.

if the look of the Range Rover really hasnt changed in the past 30 years or so, then doesnt the Explorer look like the Range Rover instead of vice versa?
The only way they wont sell a boatload of these is if the Mayans are correct

Yeah the front needs to cleaned up. Not a miss, but they didn't hit it out of the park. Interior is great.

As a whole I give it 9/10;
Front is nice - bar those absurd secondary intakes (surely they could have been better positioned?!)
Side is very nice - not completely sold on the gills, but could imagine it'd look worse without them.
Rear is superb - clean and crisp.
Interior - Typical JLR affair here - BEAUTIFUL!!!
N.B. Will be interesting to see how it looks in black / dark colours with the side chrome elements...

Not impressed with this. The side 'vent' has no place on this vehicle. It made a little bit of sense on the previous version because of its placement, but here it has no business being a part of the design. The front is overly fussy and oddly soft-looking. Something about the sharp angle of the windshield coupled with the roundness of the front doesn't work. I can't put my finger on it, but it just looks 'uncomfortable'.
The rear is atrocious. The taillamps are undersized, integration of the bumper is odd, and the whole rear end just looks like it was designed by a different person than the front.
I'm totally underwhelmed by this. It has the 'bones' of a great design, but the detailing totally fails to deliver on the promises the rest of the design makes. Pity.

Simply gorgeous in every way. The interior is fantastic and as for the exterior that is flawless. Stunning evolution of a great SUV.

Everything would have to be run past Ford, but there were never any Ford design team at LR nor any LR designed by Ford.
I did not say they didn't have a hand in 'things' but no direct influence on design. BMW on the other hand did go as far as providing their own designs, but these were never chosen
