I think we're getting the old-look Qashqai as Rogue Sport to keep it more visually distinct from the regular Rogue.

If that's the reason, it's dumb. :)

The prefacelifted version looks better if that's any consolation.

That is true, the US model combines the improved interior with the prettier pre facelift exterior. Actually a best of both worlds.

https://www.carscoops.com/2018/10/20...inment-system/

2019 model year, getting a new petrol engine (the new 1,33 turbo co developed between Renault/Nissan and Mercedes, serving now everywhere from the Dacia Duster to the Mercedes A-and B-Class), replacing both the smaller 1,2 and larger 1,6 turbos, with either 138 or 158hp, coupled to a 6 speed manual or a new DCT, also shared among these brands;

Inside, there is a new infotainment, which, despite looking very similar and remaining at nowadays smallish 7", now has a new crisper screen and graphics, multi touch and OTA updtaes, a much needed upgrade IMO;

In general, these regular updates are what is required in competitive segments (something FCA IMO has always hugely neglected - bring a good new car and then never touch it again and watch it fall into irrelevance)
