FWD and uninspiring style, it could be mistake with any Kia. The interior looks like Mazda.

Why must the passenger side air vent be basically the size of the gauge cluster?

Can't see this going against an A-Class or A3 personally, unless the driving dynamics are very, very good.

In the USA it will be a success if they make it a "GTI" and price it like a GTI $28K (which is still HIGH). A sedan would be better despite the sorry state of sedans because the only thing worse here is a hatchback.

BMW needs to do something given that it is completely unrepresented against the A3 and A/CLA.

I'd do something clever like doing a "GTI/GLI" duo with a 2.0T and sane pricing and market it as the BMW 2002 which would separate it from the RWD naming system.

Right my question was simpler than that: are there currently known plans for BMW to bring this stateside?

I think it should come stateside indeed. And also a sedan version to complete with the A3 and that mercedes Fwd thing.

Probably only the 2 series GT and any coupe/cabrio if BMW decides to make a new model again.

Not sure how well it would sell, but with no A class hatch in the states, I doubt the 1 series hatch would make an appearance.
