Default 201? Peugeot 308 and Citroen DS4 sedans

while these spy's of DS4 sedan circle the net for a while now...:

...first picture of Peugeot 308 sedan surfaced today:

and it seems that Theophilus was just slightly wrong in his "envision" :

Unfortunately it seems that the rear end will be way more plump than Theo's sleek and elegant version (that has a lot of classic and good Peugeot vibe)

here... more 308 photos from various angles:

and someone tried to "take a cammo of" :) :

...it doesn't look that bulky... frankly&judging by this photo, I'd be happier if its nose would be thinner... but I'd have to see the new 308 in person, to be sure of that.

Well, on these more pics, there is a lot of 508 (understandable) in the design. However, I think the 508, though less controversial and probably more elegant than some previous Peugeots, can also (especially in certain colors and with smaller wheels) look incredibly bland and anonymous. And I fear, this will go for the 308 sedan as well. Theo's design has this kind of balanced greenhouse and front/rear overhangs of those 90ies Pininfarina Peugeots, which I did like a lot...

The Citroen version seems slightly better resolved in my eyes....

yep.... DS4 sedan, definitely....here's second teaser.... weird, yesterday, when I saw the first teaser, I had a funny feeling that I'm not gonna like it (that chrome stripe, just visible in the upper left corner was a big hint ) when they decide to show the rest/more of it.... and frankly, I was not wrong :

... I hated this oversized, shiny, lack of taste chrome monstrosity when they showed it on Wild Rubis concept... and they went and stick it on production model... ! next thing will probably be to "rape" all, future and existing DS models with it...
I hope it stays on China...

If there will be sedans based on the DS4 AND the Peugeot 308, shouldn't there be separate threads?

The DS4 and 308 share little apart from some engines and approx. size, they are based off different platforms (the DS4 actually of the previous 308 PF, whilst the new 308 uses the new PSA modular PF). Unless the sedan of at least one of the two versions will share little with it's hatchback sister...

:
Chinese people like chrome. PSA has to add more chrome to chinese models than to other markets.

308 sedan for China will be launched under the 408 name at the Beijing Auto Show:

It seems that it will have an all different interior, without the instrument pod above a miniscule steering wheel setup of the hatchback model. I guess that "etravagance" is not for everyone, especially not in CHina...
