Default 2021 Volkswagen Nivus

A VW Polo crossover for South America. Wouldn't mind if this came to the U.S. to slot below the Tiguan, but apparently there's some other small crossover separate from this still in the works for the U.S.:

I actually quite like this. Too bad VW uses such cheap material in their cabins these days...
It also could do with out the character line immediately below the DLO.

Isn't the small crossover for NA the Chinese tharu? to be called the Tarek

Based off the seat ateca, skoda karoq., which is also the basis for the tiguan SWB.

Possibly? But who knows at this point. That article is almost exactly a year old and we've heard nothing else, which is mind boggling to me. At this point the Tharu has been out for several years hasn't it? So I'd hope they either send a facelifted version or wait until a next generation rather than pull an EcoSport.

VW really doesn't care about the US or Canada, huh?

Pretty sure that most of the body in front of the 3rd side window is shared with the Polo (interior too); Basically a Polo Fastback with a higher ground clearance; Just what the Subaru XV is to the regular Imprezza...

A bit more effort though, as clearly the front hood and fenders are different, also lights, bumpers and the whole rear that is stretched and completely different shape - XV is just 100% Impreza - lifted with body cladding and different bumpers.

Well, this seems to have a Polo interior so it may still be decent. But yeah VW interior quality seems to be taking a dive in general.

That said, with the fussy styling and cheap interiors, its starting to become a mystery why youd want a VW over anything else these days.

A different hood is not that difficult, that said I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar front end on a facelifted Polo; The rear end is indeed more work than Subaru, however likely necessary to position it as a "coupe CUV" in Europe later....
