Looks like a stretched Octavia ... but the computer image in the artikel looks nice.
Maybe Skoda will seperate their car designs from the VW-look in their next generation ...

The Superb is larger than the Jetta, its Passat sized. And what is wrong with the new Jetta?I dont get it, a "Toyota wannabe?????" U serious? I hardly think VW is trying to make Toyota-like cars.

In case anyone's interested, I reard somewhere that the next Superb will be a hatchback like the Octavia, and not a saloon like it currently is.

Can't remember where I read that though, although I do remember thinking it was a reliable website/magazine

Superb is larger than the Passat, 4.80 m with wheelbase 2.80m, like old A6.

Why such surprise? Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the past year, that's the exact criticism a large, large number of people have been leveling at VW since they introduced this new Jetta: looks like a Corolla, hence, Toyota wannabe. People on this site, car magazines, on-line reviews........ saying or hinting at the same thing. It looks like a Corolla with a big, shiny schnoz.

The Superb was based off the VW Santana sold in China, which was bigger than the Passat, maybe even the new one but I'm not sure. Since the new Passat sits on a stretched Jetta chassis, and it might be that Skoda will move to the new platform, then the Superb would in effect be a stretched Octavia. But then, they might just leave it on the Santana chassis. Does anyone know?

The Superb was based on the Audi B5 platform which was shared with the B5 & B5.5 Passat.

It is in fact a stretched B5 not on the Santana which is based on a stretched Audi 5000/B2 Passat platform

The Shanghai-VW Passat Lingyu is based on the same platform as the Skoda Superb.
