That said, I'm surprised they go with the small MPV Zafira name, instead of the Vivaro name, that this car will actually replace.

In UK the Vauxhall will get the Vivaro name :?

Giving Vauxhalls different names to their Opel equivalents seems to be a new thing. First, UK-bound examples of the Opel Karl revived the Vauxhall Viva name, and now they're applying Vauxhall Vivaro to a van christened the Zafira Life in Europe. What's next? Will the next Corsa resume the Nova nameplate? Will the replacement for the Insignia be known as the Cavalier Grand Sport?

merged the posts with the proper thread

Not sure why they changed the name in mainland europe to Zafira and not Vivaro since it replaces it but maybe the Zafira name catches the eye more than Vivaro.

Given that PSA now owns Opel, not surprised Renault ended the agreement for the Renault traffic, can't have a competitor (PSA) have access to it.

Apparently, the UK and the commercial versions will retain the Vivaro name, so only the top passenger version is called Zafira, for reasons that probably make sense to someone (that someone is not me).

If want to keep the Zafira name alive, I use it on a Peugeot 5008 derived versatile 7 seat SUV...

So the Opel PSA is bigger than the Opel Renault, that's all benefit for Opel to get the EMP2 Platform :)

I remember some campervan on basis of "former" Vivaro(like Womondo in Germany), just can't wait to see a campervan on new Vivaro basis(even though CitroŽn, Peugeot and even Toyota have already theirs)

Zafira Life. Looks Metris/Vito sized.

The Vauxhall Zafira is a compact minivan. Perfectly boring enough for rental fleets.
