Default No more new Mitsubishis in Europe

https://www.topgear.com/car-news/mit...-models-europe

Mitsubishi announced this week that no more new models will be introduced in Europe (incl. post Brexit UK), which already includes the upcoming Outlander, initially planed for the end of 2020;

For now, the existing model lineup will continue, warranty and service plans and parts will be guaranteed for a while;

Mitsubishi will concentrate on South East Asia, which, I guess, also means that in the long term they are dead in the US as well (not that the lineup would be full of exciting models anyway by now.

Whilst the current lineup of cars is kind of unexciting and not that much competitive anymore, Mitsubishi had some very nice models (not only the obnoxious Lancer EV0), and IMO every car brand gone is missed, if only for competition....

If they can survive selling cars in South East asia, then why not.

Hopefully it will continue and not fade away like other brands.

It will be interetsing, but why not. EVen if we thik very global, tehre are limits to platform sharing and at some points, the economies of scale of even more shared compoinetnts is limited, but also opens new risks (one component fails, and you can recal half of your last 5 years production). So soecializing on certain markets might actualy work, especially as Europe has a very differenet taste in cars, again dos the US (but different, to the the rest of the world....

https://www.carscoops.com/2020/08/no...rom-september/

So sales of the SUV lineup will already halt in September in Europe (ao they save on reengineering to comply with stringer emission regulations); That will leave the current Mirage (or Spacestar, in some European markets) and L200 as their only models, making the dealers understandably less than happy...
