Default Aston Martin DBX

I guess it's a sign of the times that, currently, the best spy comes courtesy of the manufacturers themselves....

In profile, it looks like a lifted Rapide w/ the trunk chopped off (not a bad look, actually).

The world most definitely does not need another ultra-luxe SUV, but I'm sure the Aston Martin will be the most fetching (and perhaps the least capable) of the lot....

All SUVs (except the 10 year old Mitsubishi Pajero) which a not BOF are not incapable.

But this one is more promising and interesting than any other. Maserati lost its opportunity with a half backed product. Only Ferrari can do better. The Lambo and the Bentley (and Cayenne) are just tarted up VW Touaregs.

IMO this is the modern day Rapide, and the right product for that position in the lineup.

There is something about the looks and appearance, that makes me think more of a Jag F-Pace or Alfa Stelvio competitor than something going against probably a top end Cayenne or a Bentley Bentyaga (even if that one is incredibly ugly). I don#t say it's bad if it doesn't look like a behemoth, but it seems the customers for large luxury SUVs like them that way - the bigger, the uglier - "more menacing looking" - the better...

Otherwise, yes, it will sell more than any Aston, yes, they are going to survive easier, it will probably not be the ugliest out there, but still I don#t like the idea of every sports car maker turning into CUV producers....
